born in 1980 at the initiative of five founding members of the Group Inzino Caves, a rare example of spontaneous birth of a caving group.
The earliest years are frenetic: the group tries to give itself an internal organization and at the same time trying to understand what really is not caving just reading books, but above all practical. We visit caves and the first horizontal and vertical caves of the first wells already known cavity with ladders borrowed or the "Prusick. In the meantime we shall liaise with the groups of Brescia city, and, after doing the course at the caving Caving Group Brescia well to learn the technique of single rope, in 1982, some members participate in the caving expedition organized in Turkey with the Speleo Club Tanaro.
That same year he opened the collaboration with CAI Gardone Val Trompia, of which we become part, and the group is gaining new members up to to forty members. The new revenues provided by membership cards so allow us to finally have a good availability of material in stock.
Meanwhile, the group is rooted more in the territory and makes itself known with exhibitions and educational activities in schools and summer camps on Mount Maniva; Gardone VT is the operational core, but its activities cover the whole valley and extending inland to Lake Iseo search for new natural hollows in 1983 included the first three caves are detected by the GGI in the land of eastern Lombardy.
At the same time begin the exploration of the 330 THE Fieraröl Vesallo to Polaveno with the Speleological Association of Brescia, which will continue exploration on several occasions over the years, so as to make the cave Fieraröl "mother" of our group, and the first exit in the cave for most of our students. From 1982 to 1985 explorations lead to the discovery of many new branches and the base current of the cavity, then it takes 1992 to 1994, when some lift in the side branches leading to the discovery of more rooms, up to a landslide a few meters from the open air, which makes it impossible to identify the second input hoped.
In the '90s the group undertakes actively to maintain the same cavity and the resurgence linked bus called the TOF pollution due to the leaching of sewage of the villages above: after a year of water sampling and analysis of the concretions and was thus able to document the environmental damage and administrations to implement measures to stop it.
The work group is not limited only to the slopes in grottoes known and unknown, but is also aimed at protecting the same aquifer and heritage valtrumplino with interventions Repair and cleaning of numerous cavities (one on the bus all the action of between 01 LO) and with the practice of canyoning, which allows new methods of exploration on the surface. There are also dedicated to training new recruits through the annual courses of introduction to caving and participates in national conferences, regional commissions to CAI for caving and caving summer camps.
In November 1991 the old caves Inzino CAI Gardone VT Group changes name and becomes Speleo CAI Valtrompia, then return half of the independent 90 with its current name, Speleo Valtrompia in the meantime the body continues to change, with some members who go out of business and other returning or coming from other groups, but in the late '90s, the group lives a period of stagnation, in part because of the lack of a permanent establishment.
The meeting at the National Convention of 2005 with several members of the Gruppo Speleo CAI Montorfano creates an alliance of purpose and in 2006 he started the first course Caving in collaboration between GSM and SVT.
The year 2006 will prove a turning point: the allocation of a new office in the local municipal Marcheno gives a decisive boost to the group, allowing an internal reorganization and the ability to offer the public new activities aimed at raising awareness of caving, which projection evenings, trips and projects for environmental education in schools.
In the same year with the Friends of the GSM is now taking contact with two other "small" groups of the surroundings: GS Imagna Valley Speleo CAI Lovere ... shortly after the contacts are increasing e. .. born Sebino Project, which multiplies slowly growing enthusiasm and fronts of activity.
The group is now affiliated with the Italian Speleological Society and is home to the School of Speleology Valtrompia, which promotes every spring an introduction to caving, and counts 16 members including 5 and 3 instructors Technical Speleological assistant instructor, and for those who want to know, we meet all Thursday evening from 21.30 onwards at its headquarters in Marchena.
